sweet and sour politics

During the election period in 2006 the minister of finance Gerrit Zalm said the words ‘after the sour comes the sweet’. With these words he wanted to create an optimistic view towards the future, as we had just experienced several years of recession. It was obvious that this oneliner was merely intended to attract votes for his political party. So I confronted him with the word ‘sour’ made from sweet chocolate during a speech. He was’nt expecting this at all, when he approached the speech table he looked confusedly at the word ‘ZUUR’. Never the less he took the mic and held another breathtaking speach. These letters where set in the typeface Rockwell, to get acquainted with this typeface I experimented with the letterforms as seen on the third image.
